Overall Satisfaction with Camtasia

Over the years I have used it in many forms. Most recently we needed to edit a webcast that didn't turn out so well during the recording. The voices were at all different levels, and the slides didn't display all that well. I went in and re-recorded the slides and cut them into the webcast with Camtasia. It is great for building presentations too.
  • Equalize the sound when there are different people talking using different devices. You can enhance the sound and tone down the sound.
  • It is so easy to edit material. You simply mark the spot you want to delete or insert and then use the icon to cut. There are layers you can work with too. In other words if you have multiple presentation you want to use portions of in a single presentation you can load them all and cut pieces out of each and weave them together. It is really simple and fast.
  • User interface is so easy. Everything is on one screen. There is plenty of help too. I used to work for a radio station when we did interviews we had to cut down the audio for the news. It took minutes. In a fast paced environment Camtasia made it really simple.
  • I really can say, it is so simple you can pick it up by just using it.
  • Time savings more than anything. It keeps us from having to do multiple takes on a presentation or eLearning module.
  • Improved quality of output. You are now able to do one take, and fix the audio, and add lead-ins and fade outs to make it a nicer higher quality presentation.
  • Well worth the cost. The time it takes to learn is short compared to the time it will save you in the long run.
The problem with other programs is they are like using Microsoft picture editor vs. Photoshop. The sophistication of Camtasia is so much more powerful and simple to use. It is worth the extra cost for the product quality. I have tried other editing tools and nobody stacks up to Camtasia.
Certainly for audio and video enhancement - I believe this is what it was originally designed for. We use it to edit webcasts and eLearning. You can create a presentation and fix the audio easily, and edit the display and timing. It's nice because you can add audio like music lead-ins, and fade-outs. There are all sorts of cool features like that.
