Big files? No worries!
Overall Satisfaction with Canto
At the City of Santa Barbara Waterfront Department, I primarily use Canto to share content I have created or acquired with the media and other city departments. It is being used across the entire city government. Canto solves an old problem of sharing large files with entities outside of our network. Previously, we had to use FTP or thumb drives-not a speedy nor elegant solution!
Pros
- Simple upload
- Simple to share
- Ability to password protect content
- Ability to watermark content
Cons
- UI could be simplified even more for non-tech savvy users
- Canto saves me time by not having to physically share hard drives.
- Canto speeds my response time to media requests.
- Canto saves the City hard drive space.
- Canto provides reliable backup of important content.
In the past, I've used Dropbox, Box, and a number of other free FTP apps. None of them compare to the ease of use, capability, and versatility that Canto provides. The search capabilities of Canto are much more robust. I've had far fewer issues with sharing content.
