Overall Satisfaction with Celonis
We use Celonis as our calculation method for our IFRS 9 annual and monthly calculation. Celonis obtains our overdue balances directly from our account system. It then uses certain logics to perform standard exclusions as per our requirements and then, using code, our calculation logic has been built in to return our amount to be adjusted. It provides us the flexibility to also upload a config file to override certain calculations where we know IFRS 9 requires updates such as insolvencies etc.
Pros
- Flexibility at the start of our POC phase.
- Great communication throughout build phase.
- Quick feedback and error handling.
Cons
- Detail documentation throughout the process to aid handover notes.
- The previous IFRS 9 calculation method was reaching its end of life—Celonis is a direct replacement for us.
- When rebuilding our logic from the old system to the new, it gave us a much-needed opportunity to revamp and standardise company codes and, in some cases, even pick up some errors.
Our team was highly motivated and had a great work ethic. It was a pleasure to work with them, and they made the process seamless. The validation phase took some time, and lots of analysis had to take place to identify discrepancies. The team was very patient and even assisted us with this task to make it easier to break down.
