Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software
We are using Cisco ASA in our branch offices because the user count is less than or between 30-35. Our major use case is branches connected with HO through P2P and MPLS, which Cisco ASA solves the puzzle for. Also, with [Cisco] ASA we are able to form Site to Site IPSEC tunnels with ease and create a backup line in case the primary link (MPLS or P2P) fails.
Pros
- Connectivity of branches with HO, over MPLS, P2P, and IPSEC with failover configuration.
- Easily able to monitor user web and application traffic.
- Prevention of intruders and attacks from the Internet to harm users' systems in the branch network.
Cons
- Stability
- Simple GUI is required
- Reporting
- Easy to deploy
- Cheaper than other vendors
- Reduces the cost of MPLS on remote location branches
