Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points
We want to renew and refresh our Wireless Network infrastructure. We want to replace all our controllers like 5520 and 5508. And set up new Cat9800 controllers with Azure and DC. All old AP will be replaced by 9120 and 9120AX. Unfortunately, there is a problem with receiving the hardware (we had to wait one year). Also the number of wireless devices increases, and stable WiFi is important for the organization. Also, the number of SIDs will be reduced. This product will be used in the whole organization.
Pros
- Operate with clients from different vendors
- Cover the area with good signal strength
- We can choose a different models of AP with inside/outside antennas
Cons
- Firmware distribution between access points
- Replace web auth certificate without reloading WLC controllers
- The issue with expired MIC certificate - but this is not an issue with 9100
- New AP with new hardware revision works only with the new WLC firmware

We have got 12 or more WLC55xx located in different location, now we are run a project to use only 9800 product in the cloud and in DC.
We have got great network availability across the word (sites connected by the sdwan solution). We have got AP in Australia connected to WLC in cloud.
