Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)

We use Cisco Identity Services Engine for authentication for all our endpoints and network devices, we also use it for guest wireless connectivity. Currently, the product doesn't face any problems, but we are looking into integrating it with the Catalyst Center. We also are aware that our appliances are about to end of life on 2026 and we need to look for what to do if get them virtual or get them physical. I would like some advice.

Pros

  • Posturing
  • Authorization
  • Authentication

Cons

  • Adding device automatically
  • Include snmp 3 configured in the appliances
  • Rediscovery of wireless devices
  • Cisco Identity Services Engine has saved us money as our environment is more secure
  • Saves us money as we don't need third party to take care of our security

Do you think Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)'s feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) again?

Yes

When adding new devices Cisco Identity Services Engine provides good security, I like how quarantine works and the fact I was able to tested. Cisco Identity Services Engine is not friendly and bad idea to use it with access points as many Mac address need to be connected to those access points we cannot add APs to Cisco Identity Services Engine or the port will be blocked. The same situation happens with security cameras as they use NVRs.
