Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MG

We operate in different cities and the cellular coverage range varies geographically. Once we have the signal in the router, is easy to connect devices & repeaters to that router hub, but getting the signal itself is challenging. The geographical position of the server rooms vary across our premises, this is where the Meraki MG got us covered. All connected devices run seamlessly as the primary connection is strong.
  • Cellular to Wired Ethernet Conversion
  • No Signal Loss during Routing or Repeating
  • Works With LTE
  • Doesn't use full 5G bands
  • Free trial is very limited on options.
  • Doesn't support more than 2 gateway connections.

The deployment can be a piece of cake if you have networking professionals onboard. It isn't different from how you usually implement the system which works fully on cables. It gives you more freedom on where you want to keep the devices. For IT professionals it should be really easy. The management part is also similar to the Wired system, Simple.
We were working with the previous generation of Cisco switches but it limited us to a 100mbps connection. Later we started replacing them with 1000 series switches, the difference in connectivity & speed is massive. The network origin is the Meraki MG & the whole network seems to work better with this switch.
In terms of scalability, The MG Meraki is unvanquished! As it works on cellular signals, as long as you have the required signal strength, you are connected. Removes the dependency on cables to connect to our ISP. So geographical locations do not affect the scalability of MG. Which is the whole point of having a Cellular to Wired Ethernet Device. And it can also be managed with the web centrally.
Although both products come from the same family, there are drastic differences between them. When it comes to the MX, it's all about security. It might not perform like the latter, but the security it provides is really good. It is a good enterprise WAN Solution, but still, the Meraki MG beats it in overall performance & ease of use. And the MX sadly doesn't support cellular connectivity.
If you are planning to bring internet to a kiosk, trade show, or to the basement where you have your server room or any other location where coaxial cables won't help you, you can always depend upon Meraki MG By Cisco. It will get you connected to the network with ease and without any cables on the way.
