Overall Satisfaction with CodeSignal

So CodeSignal has proved to be an excellent tool for testing potential candidates during the interview process. Traditionally, people would come to offices to give interviews but with more and more candidates and companies preferring online interviews, we have had a few instances where the leetcode question was given to a candidate and the candidate would copy paste the most voted answer if you are not looking at the candidate with full attention. CodeSignal helps prevents such instances and saves time

Pros

  • Capturing video recording of the candidate
  • Being able to capture hand or facial movements
  • No need to maintain and update interview questions

Cons

  • Have more realistic interview questions
  • The questions are at times tougher than normal standards
  • it has a complicated navigation window
  • Has helped with streamlining interview process
  • Saved time, no need to be present during coding challenge rounds
  • provided detailed reports on the candidate
HackerRank in general has more features as compared to CodeSignal although it does get heavy on the user using the platform unless you are accustomed to it. Although the platform in itself is more popular compared to CodeSignal. Personally I was introduced to hacker rank before CodeSignal.

Do you think CodeSignal delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with CodeSignal's feature set?

Yes

Did CodeSignal live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of CodeSignal go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy CodeSignal again?

Yes

Well Suited
CodeSignal is very well suited for technical hiring as there is no need to maintain a list of interview questions or be actually present during the actual interview challenge. The platform handles both the challenges,. It provides a range of questions to choose from and automatically grades the candidates, providing them a score based on their performance. It then provides a detailed report on how well the candidate performed
Not well suited
CodeSignal is not well suited to learn new skills. If a candidate wants to upgrade himself then CodeSignal may not be the best platform. it does have a lot of coding problems like leetcode but no tutorials to actually learn a new skill
