CodeTwo making email signatures quick, easy, and uniform
Overall Satisfaction with CodeTwo Email Signatures
CodeTwo Email Signatures automatically inserts email signatures into outbound emails. The software is purchased based on a version of Microsoft Exchange or Exchange Online. It requires some setup but once in place, does a superb job of managing signatures for users. It allows for customization based on security groups and links directly with Active Directory for user information.
Pros
- Automated signatures, no need to configure Outlook-level signature and it adds it when the email is going outbound.
- Smart signature placement, internal messages can be excluded and it will not over paste the same signature information once it's been on the string (this can greatly reduce the signature sprawl that appears in email chains).
- The software has option/feature to insert the signature in the individual sender's Sent Items object. This means the user's Sent Item will display what was sent out, versus having a mismatch between the Sent Item and what the recipient received (with the signature).
Cons
- Support is not US-based and works on strange time frames. Once you get support on the phone, they are average at handling issues, but all of my problems have still been resolved.
- If the software has issues, it can cause significant downtime for Exchange. Especially when the Sent Items feature is enabled, this can cause the Exchange Transport service (allows sending of email) to fail and email flow to stop. This, of course, is just a temporary bug in the software that can be prevented with software updates.
- The software can be complex to learn as you build your signature templates and apply them to groups.
- Great time-saver! Having to configure Outlook signatures on computers and terminal servers is a giant waste of time.
- Uniformity! Forcing structure for all users so the entire company has the same configuration.
- Low price, this software is very economically priced and the "bang for the buck" is phenomenal.
I have used CodeTwo more than Exclaimer, but both do a fine job of regulating and maintaining signatures. Both software packages pull information from Active Directory and can be managed based on Active Directory security groups.
