Overall Satisfaction with Cohesity Helios

We have 4 units spread across several data centers and on-premise locations. Two units used as a File Server and 2 units used as a repository for backups.
  • Intuitive user Interface.
  • Good reporting and metrics.
  • Setup was not very easy, not intuitive.
  • Ability for multi-tenant (VLAN) was not quite there yet.
  • Positive impact on RIO esp. at the data reduction level.
  • The multi-tenant setup has been a bit tough to implement.
Support is very good. Especially the technical sales rep. Always helping us along the way.

Very good for File Server applications. Maybe not so good for only a repository, at least not yet.

Using Cohesity Helios

Evaluating Cohesity Helios and Competitors

I personally believe that the backup software is better than Veeam so far. I have not delved into it as much as I have with Veeam yet, but so far easier to use. Much better as a back-end than both Dell EMC and PV due to the data reduction.
