Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

Concur helps us to manage travel expenses as well as other expenses that we can categorize. It will manage booking flights and hotels, all the way down to submitting expenses for team activities for our organization.
  • Mobile app experience with taking pictures of receipts.
  • Organizing roles between organization and approvers expenses.
  • Creating an expense from scratch is a bit tedious.
  • Going in to approve something could be quicker, especially in a mobile app.
  • Time saved gathering receipts.
  • Time saved getting approvals for expenses.
I haven't evaluated or used any alternatives to Concur. Expensify seems to be the top alternative, but I don't have enough experience with it to be able to say if it's a good alternative or not.
The one integration that I know is used is federated login with OKTA. It works very seamlessly and the set-up was straightforward.
The biggest thing that Concur has allowed us to change is giving us back the time that we would have had to have spent on gathering information, approving, filing, and going through expenses.
Of the trips that I have taken, it has allowed our company to specify which hotels/flights are their preferred as well as create a seamless experience for us to book travel. While traveling we don't need to keep paper receipts as the mobile app makes it really easy to take a quick picture of the receipt. After travel, creating expenses for those receipts is straightforward.
I think Concur Travel and Expense is suited well for a larger organization that is already integrated with a federated provider that needs a large scale option for expenses and travel reimbursement. The mobile app that allows for taking a quick snapshot of a receipt and not having to worry about carrying around paper receipts is a great thing to have.
