Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight

The tool is used by the online customer experience team (marketing department) to measure the impact of our SEO strategy and adjust it accordingly, using data to back up our decisions - now starting to be used also by the content team in the same department for keyword research and content performance tracking.

Pros

  • Keyword rank trends - useful to keep track of the rank history of a keyword
  • Audience intent explorer - particularly useful to find long tail keywords
  • Categories and segments - extremely useful to group pages and keywords into clusters

Cons

  • Technical SEO - recommendations are still too general and only about on-page factors
  • Backlinks - would love a comprehensive backlink audit tool
  • Made SEO efforts faster
  • Increased reporting efficiency
  • Educated the company on the importance of SEO
Absolutely amazing - would say it's the key differentiation between Conductor and its competitors. Love the bi-weekly sessions with our customer success rep and the training I got was fantastic.
I wasn't the decision maker. I used BrightEdge in my previous company and overall is very similar to Conductor in terms of functionalities, but the customer support of Conductor is much more helpful.
Particularly suited for content creation and content strategy, performance tracking and identification of pages cannibalization. Less suited for technical SEO and link building.

Using Conductor Searchlight

Usability can be improved, starting from the naming of the tools in the navigation - it takes a while to learn which one does what. Workspaces are extremely useful, whereas insight streams started to become redundant after a while - I still prefer to dig into the tool to identify problems and trends.
