Overall Satisfaction with ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect)

Our company is using ConnectWise Control in the Cloud for remote administration. This includes patching, help desk troubleshooting. This brought everything under one roof. No longer were you facing limits of time able to connect or problems with UAC and losing connection or inputs.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Works well with a wide variety of internet connections and screen resolutions
  • Has additional features such as being able to anotate to show a user where to click or be able to take over and do it for them or work unattended.

Cons

  • I haven't always had the best luck with upgrading the client on the Administrators machine. It sometimes seems to require a full uninstall and reboot before installing the newer version.
  • Think of another way to show dual monitors and switch between them.
  • I don't care for the price increase after ConnectWise purchased ScreenConnect. I hope prices remain stable for some time.
Much easier and more reliable than TeamViewer which I was using before. I like the centralized dashboard and control over UAC that ConnectWise has.
It's the best tool I have used for remote administration. It connects quickly and reliably and nothing has tripped it up so far. It's not the best option for file transfers, it seems to be quite limiting for that in terms of speed.
