Overall Satisfaction with ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect)
We use ConnectWise to have constant connections to our restaurants. As a small restaurant chain (8 units), it is far more efficient for us to manage simple changes or issues remotely than to drive around. The constant connection also allows me to access the restaurant's computer when there is not someone on site, which is very helpful for times where we need to test something overnight. I also use the ConnectWise platform to hold meetings/share screens when necessary.
Pros
- The setup and use of ConnectWise is very easy. I have some IT skills, but not a lot - this really couldn't have been more simple to do.
- The on-boarding rep that I dealt with was fantastic at explaining every feature to be sure that I was getting the best product set for what I needed.
- My favorite feature is the constant connection (or agent?) - even after a reboot or loss of internet connection, it reconnects automatically. It really is a lifesaver. (I've saved at least 10 hours a month by having this)
Cons
- I'd love to see a more flexible pricing tier for number of connections (something like intervals of 5 or 10).
- A true "meeting" room session would also be nice.
- The software cost was right on target for my budget (small restaurant chain).
- The cost was easily offset by the savings on time and mileage.
I had never owned or administered another screen sharing/control software prior to ConnectWise. I had experience with Bomgar and Cisco as a user, and often found their system to be a little too "IT-y," if that makes sense. I needed something that didn't require a degree in computer science to administer and work with.
