Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

Hoovers worked well for our purposes on lead generation and backfilling information about client companies.

  • Contains most needed information.
  • Has good information breadth.
  • Automation can be lacking.
  • Documentation not always clear.
  • Sometimes Salesforce integrations not always clear.
  • Has been helpful for lead generations.
  • Helps with data analytics after deals are closed based on demographics.
  • Has made things easier in Salesforce and less manual.
We are typically just looking for the basic information such as location, industry, revenue, employee count, and the like. D&B Hoovers is typically great about that. It runs into issues when you are looking for a parent company and there are multiple subsidiaries or divisions of one company that it tracks as separate entities -- little hiccups like that which occasionally occur.
This is not applicable to our use case.
D&B Hoovers has better integrations than ZoomInfo, however, I sometimes feel that ZoomInfo is easier to use. D&B and ZoomInfo both can feel inaccurate at times (for example, ZoomInfo seems to have a floor.

It is well suited to get more detailed information about some opportunities in Salesforce. An area that would have been a big win for my organization's needs is finding ways to better automate the integration of company demographics for very large lists of additional companies and opportunities. The automation part stands to be improved, at least for my organisation's use case.
