Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

We use D&B Hoovers to pull prospecting lists for our clients who are looking to incur new clients based on specific niches, revenue range and title within a company. At times we find the information is somewhat outdated and requires us to do additional research prior to providing the information to our clients. I am the primary user of the platform.

Overall, D&B Hoovers offers the data that we need. We most typically use the revenue range, public/private company, location, and executive level titles to create the lists we pull for our clients needs. Most importantly we use the SIC code and other codes to research specific niche/industries.
D&B Hoovers provides all of the essential data we need to contact prospects. We use the address field, phone number, website, contact name and title and any other relevant information we can pull from the lists. The only downfall is that some of the data is not kept up to date or seems outdated.
  • Data Axle Genie (formerly Salesgenie)
We actually use both for our list pulls to compare the data pulled from each product. Both are similar and have ease of use. Both seem to fall short with making sure information is current.

For our purposes, D&B Hoovers is a great tool. We can easily input the parameters we are looking for and pull the information we need for our client needs. It makes providing a list of prospects to our clients much easier and creates less work for us overall.

It is less appropriate for smaller businesses which can create issues.
