Overall Satisfaction with Datto

We have about a dozen clients running Datto Siris and Alto. These are being used to backup servers and workstations for these clients.
  • Fantastic UI
  • Excellent verification with screenshots
  • Extremely expensive
  • Less control for the technician; if there is a problem we have to contact support
  • Datto is very expensive and leaves us with little to no margin on backups.
  • Datto has simplified backup management and requires less work than Storagecraft.
ShadowProtect quality has decreased over the years and their price has increased. Datto is far superior in terms of UI, datacentre capabilities as well as confirmation of backup successes. Veeam offers these same features in a more complicated format but also lets you roll your own backup solution so we have chosen Veeam as our new standard.
We have not encountered many issues with Datto Support. There was an instance where we escalated to support and there was nothing that could be done to recover the backups.

Do you think Datto SIRIS delivers good value for the price?

Are you happy with Datto SIRIS's feature set?

Did Datto SIRIS live up to sales and marketing promises?

Did implementation of Datto SIRIS go as expected?

Would you buy Datto SIRIS again?

Veeam Backup & Replication, ShadowProtect SPX
Datto is great if you just want something to work (for the most part) and don't want to roll your own backups and don't have datacentre capabilities. The UI is very friendly and it is easy to figure out. The account management team was very easy to work with as well. Datto has seemingly figured out the MSP ecosystem very well.
