Good tool for market intelligence and research teams
Overall Satisfaction with Dovetail
Dovetail was primarily used as a knowledge management tool in our organization, where we stored thousands of market and competitive intelligence reports. This platform allowed us to provide an organized and searchable repository of insights for all of our company's employees while also managing users' access and reading privileges.
Pros
- Search is strong because of tagging and crawling.
- Site performance is strong and reliable.
- Transcription capability is effective.
Cons
- Some usability issues (e.g., uploading documents, then tagging and publishing feels clumsy).
- Links shared on Slack include a huge Dovetail graphic, but there is no detail about the shared file.
- AI add-ons should be bundled into all packages.
- Increase win rate.
- Drive data-driven market strategy.
- Drive informed product roadmap.
Dovetail has some niche capabilities for market research that these alternative competitors do not like embedded transcription, insight clipping, sharing across a research team, etc. The others in my list have more features and are designed for knowledge management. For internal communications, we've determined that colocating insights with other sales and marketing materials is ideal.
