Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Dropbox is used to manage documents in the organization for which my company is partnered with. We are using Appian to integrate it with, and download and upload the documents in a particular folder structure as per the client requirements. In our case, the company is a real-state company and having multiple images of buildings which can't be stored in Appian in a cost-effective manner, therefore, we are using Dropbox for large-sized document management. And with the help of Dropbox, we are able to manage it effectively at our end.

It allows all the files to get uploaded with any virus check, not secure enough.
If we compare it with other tools, its a bit expensive
Not having multiple options to filter down the search.

Return on Investment

Productivity has increased, as employees no longer have to manage the documents on their own.
No More disk storage required, everything is handled on cloud
Comparatively expensive though, but because of the other positive points, it do nullifies.

Likelihood to Recommend

Dropbox is well-suited if we're using it to store the documents, however, managing it through an external system as well. However, if we have to give this access to an external third party, with limited access ,it would be difficult to manage due to its improper security restrictions.
Therefore, in other scenarios, it's appropriate to use, however, if the docs are really sensitive in terms of security, we might need to re-think on the same.
