Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
We use Dropbox to manage large photo files between our company and our externally hired photographer. Our designer keeps Dropbox files of all unedited images, and sorts folders by season once photos have been edited. I make folders of sorted photography and graphic assets to arrange by project as well.
Pros
- Allows us to transfer large files easily between users
- Allows us to organize files by season, photoshoot, year, etc
- Has a large amount of storage so we can use it as our primary storage place for legacy assets
Cons
- Sometimes I find it difficult to navigate to folders that have been shared with me if I lose the direct link to it
- Dragging between folders can be a bit tricky
- There is a lot going on and lots of options for actions to take, but it can look visually confusing
- Dropbox serves a specific purpose for us which is making it easier to organize and access our photography assets, which is very helpful.
- I'm not sure this translates to a direct positive impact on sales, etc, but it is very helpful.
I have not used a similar tool to compare against
