Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
I use DropBox to share large files of audios and videos for my production projects. I am a freelance filmmaker and Dropbox allows the videos to stay in high quality and easy to share with others. I have dealt with any issues so far.
Pros
- Allow collaboration of multiple people to import files.
- Can import high quality videos and photos
- It includes passwords or permission to allow others to view files for protection purposes.
Cons
- One issue is when the preview of the video will sometimes play at the same time when watching it in full screen, where the two videos overlap each other.
- Faster import time when inserting multiple files
- It will be easier and faster to have a section to delete files under the folder tab
- Dropbox allowed us to hold different version of our high resolution films to insert for competitions.
- It allowed me as the director to visually see the timeline of the film and provide feedback on specific areas to the film with its features.
- It is easy to access needed files and downloading them to our own computer. It has been easier rather than emailing the files back and forth.
Google Drive does not provide much space because it also includes gmails and other sources. It is easier to control what is included within the DropBox and the quality of the files stays the same.
