Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use Dropbox to store documentation for our organization. It’s our main central location so senior leadership has access to important documents. Plus it gives ability to lock certain folders from access. Very accessible on desktop and it doesn’t function too differently from folder organization on Windows. Appreciate the way they talk to each other, too.

Pros

  • File organization
  • Sharing
  • Locked folders

Cons

  • Sharing could have easier interface. More appealing. The sharing on Google drive feels so intuitive and that’s what I think encourages me to default to Google drive.
  • More info on when folders or documents were moved/changed
  • A more seamless web app and desktop app
  • We’re a hybrid nonprofit. We need access to documents from many locations.
  • Lots of draft versions created and drop box is our ultimate documentation storage.
  • Easy to use and analogous wot windows file storage.
It’s perfectly similar to windows. No frills. Only functionality. Plus less likelihood of changing or deleting something unlike Google drive. With I could see a user list and share more easily. Sharing is really where I see usability dropping and why so many staff default to Google drive.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Clean clutter free file storage. Easier to sort than Google drive. Easier to store documents that are finished and no longer in draft more. More secure documentation storage and knowing documents will not be easily changed as with Google drive. The permission control helps with backend administration of sensitive information.
