Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
I work in video production, so being able to share large-sized files with my editors and clients is paramount. I have editors that work remotely, so being able to share projects with them via Dropbox as opposed to mailing physical drives is both cost and time-effective. To then allow my clients to download their films straight from Dropbox, an app most of them already have on their phones, is both simple and convenient.
Pros
- Ample storage
- Easy to navigate app
- Affordable
Cons
- It would be great if I could manage existing folders similarly to how "finder" on my mac operates.
- It's a bit tricky to consolidate folders
- Positive impact: It's cheaper to share video projects on Dropbox as opposed to MediaZilla
- Cheaper to use Dropbox than mailing hard drive to editors
- I don't have to charge clients sales tax due to omitting a physically tangible product (thumb or hard drive) from their deliverables.
Mediazilla- This is a platform for videographers designed to have a client-facing product that acts as a DVD menu, but with digital content. While attractive & easy to use from a client perspective, it was expensive on the business side. I am no longer doing enough video jobs that would need this, and my clients are just as happy to be able to download their videos without the polished front.
