Overall Satisfaction with Druva inSync

Druva inSync is deployed across the entire organization to enable remote backup and restore of user's personal files to a central storage location. This allows end-user computing devices operating across diverse WAN links to replicate data whenever online, users to initiate the granular recovery of files and IT to quickly deploy replacement devices where required.
  • Centralized administration console allows for simple management of large deployments through the use of profiles.
  • Ability to deploy on-premise allows for greater control and compliance when operating within strict Information Security and data locality requirements.
  • Integration into active directory allows for seamless and secure deployment of clients without the need for user interaction.
  • The client still has some issues, particularly around connectivity to the server when licensing is lapsed or incorrectly reporting so.
  • The ability to share files between internal and/or expose files to external users is a feature often logged with the IT Service Desk.
  • The relative cost of the product is high and the market for products with a similar feature set is becoming saturated. I expect that many organizations will be investigating alternative solutions, particularly those within established cloud eco-systems which are packaged within existing IT product suites.
  • The ability to deploy on-premise allows for the utilization of existing low-cost storage, rather than forcing the use of proprietary cloud storage as some competitors do.
We do not deploy inSync to backup any cloud apps, only local storage from EUC devices.
We do not utilize the DLP or audit features of the product.
We do not utilise the described functionality of the product.
Neither of the other products we evaluated against Druva provided the required centralized management and deployment capabilities.
I was not employed at the relevant organization during the initial implementation of the product so I cannot comment.

Do you think Druva Data Resiliency Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Druva Data Resiliency Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did Druva Data Resiliency Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Druva Data Resiliency Cloud go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Druva Data Resiliency Cloud again?

Yes

Druva inSync provides an excellent platform for asynchronous data protection from homogeneous EUC environments in a managed IT environment. The product provides excellent centralized deployment and manageability. In a more loosely controlled environment where flexibility and collaboration requirements outweigh compliance and governance then I would consider it to be less suited.

Using Druva inSync

500 - Druva inSync is deployed as standard for all SOE users. This includes all Operational, Technical and Support staff across the entire organisation.
3 - Support for the application is provided primarily by our IT Service Desk, with deployment and escalation support as required by our Systems Engineers. There is very little ongoing support required with the application.
  • Data protection
  • User initiated file restores
  • File migration
Unfortunately Druva are ending support for the on premise version of the application we are running. This means that, although we would have liked to, we will be unable to renew our licensing agreement beyond the end of March 2021.
