Overall Satisfaction with Druva inSync
Druva is being used by our IT department across the whole of the organization. It addresses our need to have reliable, redundant, and maintenance-free off-site backups for the servers in our organization. Druva replaces a traditional tape-based rotational backup solution.
- Easy to use.
- Easy to implement.
- Seamless handoff between sales and implementation.
- I don't know that I want this to change, but it did take some to get my head around the billing model.
- The differentiation between sites in the interface could be clearer.
- It might be nice to get more details directly from the log.
- Druva has allowed us to remove our legacy backup equipment.
- Druva has let us move money from Capital budget to operations.
Druva did what it said it did, and it was clear about it. Druva sales didn't BS us as the other backup vendors did. The other backup vendors made promises that, when we moved to a POC, were not borne out.

Druva doesn't really need any internal support people beyond the initial configuration. One technician can handle backing up hundreds of servers, and if there is an issue where support is needed, their helpdesk responds quickly.
- Backing up VMware Guests
- Backing up File Servers
- Offsite Cloud Backups
- Onsite Caching - this has allowed us to reduce our backup/restore time
- We are considering our options for backing up cloud information
Evaluating Druva inSync and Competitors
Yes - Druva replaced Clumio and Veeam in our organization. Clumio told us that the product was not under active development anymore, and Veeam didn't provide the storage or over the wire performance that we were looking for.
- Product Features
- Product Usability
Product Features was important, but more importantly, was that there weren't any caveats about what the features could do (or not). When we did the POC, everything worked exactly as promised. Other vendors over-sold and underdelivered.
Obviously, I would put way more weight on the TrustRadius ratings :) I think that the feature comparison matrix was less helpful in this instance - the first vendor we did a POC with had the same features as Druva, in theory. They did not have the same features in performance. Once we had the POC, it was clear that the first vendor was not an appropriate choice. So in future, hearing from other vendor customers would probably be higher up on the list.
