Overall Satisfaction with Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo

Duo is being utilized across the entire organization and was implemented about 3 years ago. It secures our network and protects user identities from being stolen and fraudulent activity. Duo is required for all applications that contain secured data. The flexibility that the mobile app adds is excellent because the user no longer needs to be by a phone to answer the security/authorization call.

  • Backup options for security codes via text and phone call are great.
  • Sometimes the push notification takes 5-10 seconds to arrive.
  • Add an option for 2FA key.
  • Increased security measures.
  • Much easier to use than the old phone call 2FA system.
  • Alternative login methods are a plus.
No configuration needed for our end users. The end users sign in via SSO. After a successful SSO login, the user is then prompted to approve the login request via Duo. The hardest part of the deployment was getting users to use their mobile devices for login. Once they saw how much easier it was than the phone call 2FA, they realized that mobile is the way to go.
Duo is utilized for all login attempts. It adds an extra layer of security after single sign-on logins, therefore protecting each application individually. While this security measure will not eliminate all data breaches, it covers a vast majority of data breach entry points.
Rated a 10 because the product "just works" and there has not been a need to reach out to support for Duo.
This is not applicable since I have not had to reach out to Cisco support for the Duo product.
Duo is easier to use since it is an app and only needs your phone for authentication. The other products I have used in the past require a separate device. Everyone carries their phone with them so there is no need to remember to carry around another device.
Duo is great whether you are working at the main campus or working remotely. The experience is the same regardless of where you are physically situated. Using an iPhone paired with an Apple Watch makes logging in even easier as I can just approve the login request from my watch instead of having to pull out my phone.
