Overall Satisfaction with Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo

Duo Cisco Secure Access is being used as a dual security measure across our whole organization. Our organization required MFA to sign in to our network to access the network drives as well as multiple applications, so Duo is the MFA of choice in conjunction with using our password to access the network.

  • Users vs devices: People with multiple devices are considered as multiple users.
  • Ease of use once Duo security was implemented.
  • We can ensure our vendors that our networks are highly secure.
  • Easy to manage Duo Manager on the backend by IT staff.
Once we made the decision as an organization to integrate Duo MFA as our dual security for accessing our network, we haven't gotten any complaints from our end users. Once their device has been calibrated to work, they didn't have any issues with logging in. We only had a few instances when a user has had to change devices. The change in devices requires an IT staff to help them make that switch.
Yes, our organization has both on-premise applications as well as cloud-based applications that require secure logging in and authentication via multiple channels as required by HIPAA. We have been really happy with the security, performance, and fast response time from Duo. There have been no issues with data breaches as most users find the app easy to use feel that it provides substantial security.
Overall the support that Duo and a great company like Cisco provides has been excellent. With the initial setup and integration of Duo, the tech people we dealt with were super helpful and walked us through the whole process. They provided adequate training and resources for our internal IT team to set up and run the application. We haven't had any major issues with our end-users.
Our internal business analyst researched multiple MFA products and we finally settled on Duo because we were very impressed with their sales and marketing team, who were extremely forthcoming and helpful in answering all questions. They were very resourceful in providing us valuable information when our IT team was integrating Duo for our MFA for our organization. There was adequate training provided for our help desk personnel to navigate the setup and management of the systems.
In my previous positions, I have used both Google Authenticator as well as Okta MFA for our dual security measures. I believe Google is very basic in its functionality and it had pretty limited functionalities to navigate complicated user access levels. Okta had multiple access levels, but it was pretty pricey for a medium-sized organization. So Duo has been a great alternative option for our organization.
All of our organization's networks and systems are Microsoft and Cisco-based and their integration has been pretty smooth, so Duo works really well with our network applications. The back-end management is easy for our IT staff as they are trained on MS systems. However, I've heard that any company networks that aren't using MS Azure and other MS products, their integration with Duo systems is problematic and there have been issues that IT helpdesk has had to manage manually.
