Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

We are using Dynatrace to monitor most of our in-house Java and .net applications for APM. We use real user monitoring and sessions replay as well for some of these applications. Davis's AI enables us to work on other important tasks rather than to chase problem after problem. Without Dynatrace we would spend hours resolving issues. After Dyantrace was running, our MTTR dropped to minutes.

  • Pricing model for synthetic monitoring when running solely on-prem.
  • Reduced our MTTR from hours to minutes (or less).
  • Makes troubleshooting easy for jr. members of the teams.
Nagios still is used today as our main alerting tool. It does repeat static checks well, but Dynatrace blows it out of the water when it comes to connecting all the app dependencies together. Also, Davis makes MTTR and root cause analysis simple compared to Nagios.
For the most part, DT support is great. We have had some issues however with our Managed System with ALR errors. We have been working with support for months on this, but they keep telling us to increase our cluster sizing even though we see no evidence that we need to expand our cluster.

Nagios Core, Oracle Enterprise Metadata Management (OEMM), Splunk Enterprise
Dynatrace is great for doing deep dives into code problems. Being able to have a single pane of glass to go to when problems come up allows us to reduce our MTTR to minutes instead of hours. Integrating with our DevOps pipelines allows for faster discovery of code problems before they hit production.
