Overall Satisfaction with Expensify

Expensify is the approved corporate application for all expenses. It is used by everyone within the organization that incurs business expenses. It solves many problems through automation and integration with finance systems. It also decreases "lost receipt" issues and makes submitting monthly expense reports much more expeditious.

I travel quite a bit. Being able to snap a picture every time I get a receipt while traveling has personally been a godsend for me. I also set up inbox rules for all recurring email invoices from third-party vendors that automatically forwards the receipts to Expensify. These two features alone save me hours of work each month.

Pros

  • Taking photos each time you incur a receipt vastly minimizes lost receipts.
  • Sending monthly recurring charge receipts saves time each month.

Cons

  • The ability to permanently delete old or erroneous receipts. I can only mark as deleted, but they are still in the system marked as deleted.
  • Optimized expense reporting for both the user and the finance department.
  • Minimize lost receipts.
I have only used Excel in the past, so nothing to compare to.
I have not had to use Expensify support. It is easy-to-use and have had no real problems with it that would require support. For this reason, I don't feel comfortable providing a rating above 7 for Expensify's support team, capabilities or processes. I have spoken with our corporate admin for Expensify, and he said their support is fantastic.

I don't like this question, because most people don't go around recommending this or that to anyone unless someone is specifically asking about it. I think a better way to phrase the question would be, "If someone asked you about tools to help manage expenses, how likely are you to tell people about Expensify?" So for this reason, I give it a 9, because I most certainly would tell someone if they asked me or we were talking about the finer details of expense reports.
