Overall Satisfaction with Google Ad Manager

Google Ad Manager is used by one specific department within our entire organization.
  • Targeting.
  • Reporting.
  • Ease of use.
  • Conversions.
  • Notifications/alerts.
  • Certain targeting not available.
  • Great ROI, we are a rather large publisher, but with the low ad serving cost, we still make a margin.
  • We have to go through a reseller, therefore, we never get direct Google support, which is frustrating.
  • More integration with other Google Products.
We've used a few other way less robust ad servers, and Google Ad Manager is definitely the top tier ad server you can have as a publisher. There isn't much competition in this space for a large publisher that would make us feel comfortable switching to another ad server. We've been punched plenty in the past, but never anything struck our fancy to validate switching.
Google Ad Manager is a great tool for publishers to be able to manage their own direct-sold inventory + programmatic inventory. Google Ad Manager could improve in the sense that with the cascade/waterfall there are some hiccups with how things are served/serving properly. Sponsorships should always outweigh anything, however, if the sponsorship is only set to 25% SOV, then it isn't necessarily 25% SOV when there are other things competing.
