Overall Satisfaction with Google Ads (formerly AdWords)
We use Google Ads for its intended use... pay per click advertising. We target our customers based on location, age, and income - all of which Google Ads allows us to narrow down. It is a great marketing tool to get new customers. We set up many of our clients on the platform to attract customers for them as well.
Pros
- Target Marketing
- Ease of Creating PPC Ads
- Great Reporting Features
Cons
- If you don't know what you're doing, it will be a costly mistake. You need to target ads, and it is difficult the first time to do that.
- There isn't a feature to run an add for a couple set date spans, just hours you want to run them or a single date span.
- Reporting
- Campaign Management
- Budgeting
- Targeting
- Once we got the hang of it and had everything setup, it was a great monthly expense that we could count on ROI from. Either by obtaining new customers or literally staying above our competition in search rankings.
- We also started consulting on ads for customers and helping them set things up, which created a new revenue stream for us.
- Microsoft Advertising (formerly Bing Ads)
Everyone uses Google. They have and will always be the leader when it comes to search engines. Not only was Bing Ads more difficult to use, but the results didn't even come close to what we were (are) getting from Google Ads. It also seemed easier to get support from Google over Bing in the rare case of needing it.
