Overall Satisfaction with Google Data Studio

Google Data Studio is been used across the entire organization. After analyzing its potential when it first came out, we decided to use it to create our clients' reports. The main problem it solved was to connected straight to the Google API and automatically update every month, saving us many hours in updating reports
  • The new Data Blending feature allows you to integrate different data sources in one chart, which is particularly useful when displaying performance from different channels.
  • The free version is very exhaustive and allows you to create comprehensive reports
  • It connects with SuperMetrics which has great customer service. They are creating connectors on a regular basis, so just connect with them to put on a request
  • It would be great to be able to aggregate data from different sources into 1 metric. Add of now, with the new data Blending, we can only see data from different sources as different metrics.
  • When connecting to GA API, it would be great to see all options available in GA to replicate them in Data Studio. For example, it's not possible to see goal completions by name, only the total goal completion number.
  • Creating tables from an excel sheet or Google sheet should be more simple: Before connecting the sheet, you have to transform your data so it's in Data Studio prefered format.
  • Great ROI! The tool helped my company speed up the process of reporting, saving the company with many man-hours
  • Reports are now dynamic which allows clients to manipulate more easily their data.
Tableau is a great tool, but comparing the desktop version (which is the cheapest) with data Studio, the choice was obvious, Data Studio. First, it's free. Second, it updates automatically. With Tableau Desktop, I had to manually update each of the charts, whichewas very time consuming
Data Studio is well suited for small and medium companies as it's a free tool that has great capabilities. However, it only works well with the existing data connectors.
It is not well suited for large companies with different data sources, or internal data with different formats...

Using Google Data Studio

25 - At this moment, almost everyone uses Google Data Studio, so about 25 employees. We use it for monthly reporting.
Everyone has been trained to update their reports, but only 3 employees are the ones building reports for the rest of the company.
This tool is very user friendly and makes it easy for people with little training to use it.
