Overall Satisfaction with Google Data Studio

Google Data Studio was used in the interim before Tableau became our tool of choice. Google Data Studio is a versatile, low-cost alternative to Tableau for data visualization. In addition to having a low cost of entry to visualization, it can be relatively easy to set up for any user with little to no experience.
  • Initial setup is well supported by Google.
  • Versatile, especially if utilizing other Google marketing products.
  • Clean visualizations courtesy of Google's material design.
  • Connecting to databases wasn't as easy to set up as Tableau.
  • Not as customizable as other BI programs.
  • Browser only.
  • Free to use.
  • Able to provide client-ready dashboards.
  • Able to automate reports with third-party connectors like Supermetrics.
Google Data Studio offers the best bang for your buck because it is free to use and works well as a baseline tool/offering. It'll provide you an easy to use data visualization tool that can crank out dashboards that are client ready with support from the Google community.
Google Data Studio is well suited for those that aren't ready or willing to make the leap to an enterprise solution, as such solutions tend to demand a larger price commitment, usually require a year-long contract, and also require someone with some background with BI tools.
