Overall Satisfaction with GoTo Meeting

We have used GoToMeeting for district-wide meetings and used it during the pandemic as well. It helped us get together and exchange ideas without having to be physically together. We have used Zoom as well, but GoToMeeting is easier to use. We don't typically use it to conference with students or parents, but when we have used it for that purpose, it has worked well.

Pros

  • Simplicity of use
  • Sharing slides and other content during calls
  • You can record meetings not matter the length

Cons

  • Mobile app is a little slow.
  • The software of the app has to be downloaded before someone can join a meeting. This makes it a bit time-consuming for new users.
  • 100 maximum participants during the trial period. This doesn't allow you to get a full picture of the software's capabilities before subscribing.
  • We have saved plenty of gas and airfare by not having to attend meetings in person.
  • It is affordable, and has provided plenty of value for the price.
  • Zoom
GoTo Meeting is more affordable than Zoom and seems more reliable and easy to use, especially for novices. Zoom has become very widespread, and our employer has pushed for us to use it more, but many of us continue to use GoTo Meeting due to the easy interface and familiarity.

Zoom, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
GoToMeeting is great for remote meetings and training seminars. The software is responsive and it has features that allow you to share content during a meeting. Meetings can be recorded for later review or sharing. It could work well for online teaching, although I have not used it much for that purpose. For situations where users can't download the software or app, it might not be the right solution.
