Overall Satisfaction with GoToMeeting

We use GoToMeeting to schedule meetings mostly with people who are not directly in our department and to those who are working remotely. It is a very easy piece of software for even novice users to set up and get working. We had problems getting less tech-savvy people to jump on remote meetings and this really helped us address that problem.

  • The screen sharing works better than most of the competition
  • Meetings with large numbers of users are still very easy to run and work well
  • The video chat features aren't as robust as others
  • It does not always handle limited bandwidth issues well.
  • The chat function is not always intuitive for people.
  • The pricing isn't as good as some of the other services available.
  • Positive return for remote users
  • Great way to grow a meeting where you need to include people, not in your exact org
  • The price per month is sometimes hard to justify if you aren't using it for a while.

GoToMeeting has been better than Zoom for us when inviting members outside our department. It handles things much better than Zoom in that respect. We like the pricing better for the most part but Zoom is still good for our internal users.
GoToMeeting is well suited for medium to large institutions. The capability to have a large number of attendees to a meeting is ideal for this. It isn't as good for smaller groups where a video conference would be better for those individuals. Still, sharing screens and asking questions in the meeting is very good here.
