I gave Gusto a 9 because the platform is exceptionally intuitive, modern, and easy to navigate, even for people with no HR or payroll background. Setting up payroll, onboarding new hires, managing PTO, and accessing reports all feel seamless. The design is clean, menus are logically organized, and the onboarding process walks you through every step.
What keeps it from being a perfect 10 is that some of the more advanced functions (like custom reporting or multi-user permissions) can feel a bit limited or require more clicks than necessary. Also, it could benefit from a full-featured mobile app for admins.
That said, Gusto still delivers one of the best user experiences out there — especially for small to mid-sized businesses. It feels like it was truly built with the user in mind.
