Overall Satisfaction with Harvest

Harvest is used by everyone at our agency. We use it to track our time and productivity as well as managing scopes of projects to monitor profitability. Harvest allows us to get a better understanding of the time restraints and requirements associated with each type of campaign or project our agency takes on.
  • Integrates with other project management apps (i.e Asana)
  • Allows us to allocate specific amounts of time to various tasks
  • Gives the managers a better sense of what part of our process is most time consuming
  • The mobile app lacks a lot of the functionality that the website offers, if I were to change anything, I'd definitely update the mobile app
  • A few years back, we used Harvest to better inform our budget creation. We analyzed the time spent on similar projects and were able to create thresholds and minimums.
Like Asana, Harvest is great for project management, though it definitely skews more toward the time tracking rather than the step by step process. Some of our team members write out their to-do list as project tasks in Havest and start the tracker when they're ready to get to work - that way, they mark off a task while accounting for their time.
When we've had issues, we were able to get in touch with a "help desk" of sorts to trouble-shoot. I've also found that the support and FAQ's on the site are pretty well written and answer a lot of questions. The email updates are helpful to learn about all the new features, as well.

Do you think Harvest delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Harvest's feature set?

Yes

Did Harvest live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Harvest go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Harvest again?

Yes

Any time that you need to track hours to compare billable/nonbillable time or manage profitability, Harvest can be helpful. I'd imagine most agencies need to make sure their employees are mostly (if not 100%) billable so this would be a great tool to help manage that. The function that allows you to scope out a project by hours/task is great monitoring the time each task in the process takes as well as informs any educational opportunities to better train the staff for efficiency.
