Overall Satisfaction with Heap

Heap is a critical business tool for us. We use it for a few key purposes, including Tracking and analyzing A/B testing performance (via Optimizely integration) Tracking and analyzing the performance of key metrics on our e-commerce website Investigating potential areas for improvement (high drop-off points in our purchase funnel) Investigating potential issues or errors on the site.
  • Retroactive data storage - even if you forget to define an event, the data isn't lost.
  • Much better user interface than Google Analytics, easy for non-tech marketers to use without eng support.
  • Real-time data analysis - so we don't have to wait for the data
  • Easy ability to cut data in different methods quickly
  • Some room for improvement around the automation of data subject access requests (having API for bundling these requests) for GDPR / CCPA / CPRA compliance.
  • Heap has been a critical tool for us in combination with Optimizely to help us iterate and improve our website. This has driven significant annual improvements for us in terms of purchase conversion rates and a clear ROI for continued use.
We actually still use both Google Analytics 360 & Heap for different parts of our product and websites. Personally, I think Heap's UI is easier to use for non-technical users and it's much easier to accomplish the types of analysis we do on a regular basis in Heap.

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

Heap is particularly well suited for companies that are conducting frequent testing and iteration of a consumer-facing website. In my experience, it has been much easier to use and produces quick and reliable data that is easy for non-technical users to leverage. The process of defining new events without requiring engineering is also extremely useful and saves time.
