Overall Satisfaction with HighQ Collaborate
We use HighQ Collaborate to create custom extranet sites for sharing documents with clients. We use this software to address three main problems:
- Long-term document sharing with select users of the client’s organization. For one-off transfers of large files, we use a different solution.
- Sharing documents in a way which satisfies our requirements for the security of the client’s file.
- Creating a custom experience for clients. For example, we are able to put the client’s logo on their extranet page.
Pros
- Clean interface.
- Designed to comply with the rigorous security and confidentiality requirements for client documents that are required by large corporate law firms.
- Relatively easy to use.
- The ability to replace documents with updated versions.
Cons
- It is just not that exciting. We host documents on there for clients but the extranet sites have ultimately turned out to not be a product that our clients are clamoring for or that we are regularly pushing.
- Positive ROI for both us and the clients from reducing the number of one-off requests for access to documents.
- Negative ROI because it is not software that has taken off in our organization.
There are a large number of file sharing solutions out there. We do not use services like Dropbox and Box because they do not meet our document security requirements. Some clients use Sharepoint to host documents and share them with external organizations. I find the interface clunky and overall harder to use.
For one-off requests, we use have a "Secure File Transfer" service (it seems to be a whitebox solution that we slap our logo on, so I'm not sure which software it actually is). That works well for one-off requests but does not have many of the key features that HighQ Collaborate does for long term document sharing.
