Overall Satisfaction with HireVue
We have started using HireVue across our whole organization. We use it for a first step interview tool to screen our candidates. In my opinion, HireVue is very useful for our purpose.
Pros
- Their customer care is attentive to our requests.
- I like the video recording capability of the tool. By looking at the recorded video, we can better understand the attitudes of the candidates and how seriously they are considering the job.
Cons
- It's not always easy to create a coding exercise because the tool's functionality is limited. For example, the coding exercise editor provided in the tool does not provide insertion of equations.
- The automatic evaluation of the coding exercises use exact string match between the candidate's answer and the stored answer, including spaces. So if a stored answer is "2", but a candidate's code generates "2 " (a space after 2), it's counted as incorrect. This is not the right way of evaluating candidates' coding abilities.
- It helped us streamline our candidate interview process.
- It helped us to create an interview questions store that can be shared across organization.
