Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Human Interest as a 401k admin service. We could not do this internally. They handle the deductions and dispersals at end of year and produce a portal for employees to view their investments and contributions. This allows us to go mostly hands off with the 401k administration and keep Human Resources costs lower than they would otherwise be.

I have this as a bit of a lower rating mainly because of the payroll integration. We were promised a payroll API but it never materialized. It also seems like no one knows where to change the contribution rate. Is it on Paycom or the Human Interest portal? I do both to make sure.

The technical and financial transaction support is good for small businesses. The account rep did a great job in the setup phase. I wear a lot of hats at my business, and I didn’t need to worry during the transition. Questions were answered in a quick manner, but I often needed to go and seek out someone. Some parts were unintuitive.
