Overall Satisfaction with IBM API Connect
Existing challenge in the Organization creating, replacing & managing the APIs for SDK. These APIs should be expose to end-consumer for integration. Though swagger and other tools were helpful but managing the API per client and replacing them when required was tedious job.
Here IBM API Connect helped very positively. End results are, segragetion of APIs based on client categories, managing individual clients APIs & replacement based on specific need not effecting other client category.

Pros
- Authentication is very easy either from the Source System or the Target System. No much complexity to setup. Easy to manage and implement
- Rate Limiter to defy wrong usage in case as part of security. Again it's configuration to apply.
- Reading the target system certificate for identification. Another level of security.
Cons
- I would say doing things differently not actual improvement. Classification of security layers will helps to identify the what configuration will under given security group. Easy to understand and access for a new user.
- About API Productivity, changes to a positive level & turned in time reduced very well. About the maintenance of APIs, It's reduced to a good level. So efforts are less hence adding the to ROI indirectly.
- Replaced few tools related to API development & monitoring. These all add to ROI.
- User training is easy when compared to the previous setup hence onboarding user time cut-down to a significant level which also adds to ROI
Security is prime requirement of Banking system. Unique security I have seen is accessing and validating the target system certificate of identification. This add a good value in security validation.
The second & important feature is TLPS protocall implemented that can be setted up as required for multi layer security for data protection.

There were multiple product we read and then shortlist were taken as POC against IBM API Connect.
-Google Apigee : is good but in cross cloud there are concerns. Also, feature of reading & identifying the target system certificate was not available there.
Mind Cloud: This was also interesting but security features such as multi type of registration, security level call were not there.
