Overall Satisfaction with IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2

We use IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 in such a way that the backups do not only secure business-relevant data. At the same time, we ensure the preservation of the user's personal data in any situation. In this way, we ensure the preservation of the organization's ability to function, whether it is a minor or a major damage/failure situation. According to our calculations, with an average damage frequency, this is a considerably more affordable solution overall.

Pros

  • The software is fast.
  • The software is easy to setup amd maintain.
  • The user interface is clear and logical.
  • The price for 10 terabytes of disk space was very competitive.

Cons

  • The user interface design could be a little more modern.
  • The only suspicious thing/deficiency we found in the software is the software's prompt to leave it open on the phone overnight so that the backup is sure to succeed.
  • The last thing is full psychology. In other words, we initially spent our time in vain thinking about whether it is possible to get functional and safe software and disk space this cheaply. Of course, the price increase after the first year's offer period changes the situation to a really different look.
  • The annual waiting time per employee after a computer/phone has suddenly become inoperable has decreased by 1/3.
  • Customer service waiting times have been shortened by 1/10 of the previous time, because data is available faster and more reliably.
  • There are no numbers to give for this, but I can see that all of this has reduced the average stress level of the staff.
In our opinion, this topic clearly shows the supplier's focus on a narrower sector than the competitors I mentioned earlier. In addition, especially as the disk space requirement increases, the price becomes too high for some of the competitors. The software is very well suited to situations where, for example, due to theft, malfunction or damage, an unusable terminal device has to be replaced in a short period of time. We would say that there are slightly more sophisticated solutions for the actual sharing of files within the organization.
