Overall Satisfaction with iMovie

I use iMovie in a very specific situation : to create souvenir video of the dozens of events I organize every year. The short videos are presented at the end of every event and participants love them! I use the "TRAILER" preset and the script is created in advance. I then shoot the specific type of scenes I need to fit in the script. Very efficient process that allows me to export the video in my Keynote as the participants interact.

Pros

  • Integration of video from iphone
  • Integrated soundtrack
  • Possibility to modify the template
  • Lots of great templates
  • Seamless integration of music and movie
  • Super easy to use
  • Super easy to export to social media

Cons

  • Although the template for the trailer preset are great , they have been the same for close to a decade now
  • Need new templates for some presets
  • The recent update makes the export process more confusing
  • It would be nice to select the location of file export more easily when send to a computer.
  • iMovie is free....ROI is thus VERY high
  • Learning curve is very short. Ideal in our era of instantaneous gratification
  • The video I create and show at every event has become one of my trademarks! People talk about it every time!
  • The way I use the "trailer" preset allows me to share on social media easily
  • I send video souvenir to my client after each mandate and they love it !
I do not exagerate.
Ease of use is my #1 criteria to start using an app.
I can show how to use the app during a training session in 5 minutes and participants can create their own movie DURING the lecture!
The seamless integration with sound and photos and movies stored in the iPhone make this a pleasant experience and a hassle free creation.
I cannot compare this with any other product currently available!
So easy to use!!!
iMovie produce professional quality video without the advanced but complicated features of professional softwares. OF course it has its limits compare to professional applications but the key here is when to use which application I use Final Cut frequently for larger video files and tighter cuts. My friends use Adobe Premiere. Ever since I started using iMovie avoir a decade ago when it was less advanced I never looked back .It fulfills all my needs.

Definitely THE app to use to create magic moments!
Anybody who has seen my short movies are mightily impressed...even after seeing the movie for several years.
Since it integrate iPhone movie se easily anybody with a phone can create a great movie very rapidly.
The learning curve is very short and can be taught during a course to participants to cereal their own movie DURING the course!
