Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

Insightly is currently in use at my organization for senior level employees across departments to share contact information. Previous options had been used to try to serve this function using various databases, email programs and other tools, but Insightly is the most effective option we have tried so far.
  • Insightly's tagging system is a useful way of filtering a large database of contacts.
  • The user interface is generally very intuitive.
  • The permissions and privacy settings are very useful.
  • We have seen some feature integration with Office 365, but would welcome improvements and additional tools and options there.
Our team hopes to finally maintain a current and actively updated environment for contact management. There have been a number of failed attempts in the past but so far Insightly seems to meet our needs. Soon we will begin to use it in a more integrated manner with our email program, since Insightly has developed feature integrations that we are very excited about.
We evaluated both Highrise and Salesforce in the early research stages to fulfill our needs. Salesforce was both too complex and far too expensive to be a suitable solution for our business. Highrise seemed like a more approachable alternative within a similar price range to Insightly, but Insightly won out because the interface seemed more user-friendly and it had a feature set which more closely matched our needs.
It seems well suited to teams who want to effectively collaborate on a shared database-structured address book. Some of our users attempted to tailor its use for more personal applications, and the system was much less effective when they began to adjust the privacy settings so others could not view or edit entire contact records for individuals which they might both know and interact with. This very situation arose upon our implementation of the product, but it does not indicate a flaw with Insightly - just a learning curve on the user side.
