I use Intercom to support my students and intercom helps me communicate with them via synchronously or asynchronously to a very neat functionality to change between channels like email or live support.
I also like how you can leave notes for other team members to drop in and support a student and finally I love macros so that you can be more efficient in your job and add the name of student in the macro so that it would feel more personalized and human.
