Jabber is a unified communications tool that integrates with our phones, voicemail, WebEx, calendar providing us the ability to do instant messaging, voice and video, screen share and desktop control, and calendar integration. It's a must have tool for companies wanting to improve and streamline collaboration among its teams.
- Integrates with all the necessary Cisco applications. In comparison Microsoft Lync does not and requires a lot of third party integrations making troubleshooting and implementation more complex.
- With Jabber Mobile Remote Access you can be on the company's network or off and still be connected securely.
- Save money by reducing travel expenses by utilizing the video calling capabilities of Jabber.
- Would like to see it integrate more with Contact Center applications.
- Improved feature parity between MAC and Windows.

- Lync
Lync to me is like a car, shiny on the outside but if you lift up the hood you see it doesn't have a solid core. Jabber on the other hand while not as shiny on the outside has the support and core infrastructure of Cisco on the inside. This to me makes it a more solid and dependable choice for companies looking to deploy a unified communications architecture.
