Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Jabber

Jabber is used across the organization. It is pretty much an internal communication system that is linked to the telephone system. We can use it to send direct and instant messages (similar to a chat service), make phone calls, receive calls, send and receive messages. You can also set statuses to let colleagues know if you are available, away, busy, or on the line with someone else.
  • Internal communication
  • Chat function and instant messages
  • Status checks (see if available, away, on a call, etc.)
  • Not customizable
  • Integrates well with phone system
I preferred using Jabber over Zoom and E-Talks, probably because it integrates well with my phone and computer system. It also serves the instant messaging function better. Slack has a chat function, but I've used it more for data management than I have for communication purposes. Overall, Jabber fulfills its function well.
Jabber is well suited to serve internal communication roles and works great within the office. It is a great alternative to emails, texting, and phone calls, and allows for more discrete and subtle forms of communication (e.g., letting someone know you are on the way when you see that they are finished with a call).
