Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Jabber

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Jabber is available and used by almost everyone in our organization. It is used to communicate between staff and attorneys, as well as among attorneys. It relieves us from excessive emails and allows us to quickly chat on work, personal and other matters in an efficient manner. Our only problem is encouraging more people to use it!

Its emoticons are extremely outdated
No way to emphasize words with bold or italics

Alternatives Considered

Skype for Business and WebEx Meetings

Jabber is, admittedly, what I'm most used to. It certainly outperforms Skype where it offers far more tools and means of communication. WebEx is more targeted towards meetings where Jabber considers a broader scope of communications and correspondence.

Likelihood to Recommend

This is great as an instant messaging platform and a quick way to communicate between colleagues. I encourage my colleagues to use it to deal with small items or issues so as to avoid duplicate and unnecessary email exchanges. I also appreciate the platform for developing personal relationships in the office in an informal way.
