Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro
Our school is using this product for our MDM (mobile device management) software. This allows us to push packages to our students and teachers/staff. Also, keep an inventory of their machines. We also use profiles to manage the machines.
- Push software packages to students and teachers/staff
- Keep inventory of enrolled devices
- Manage devices using profiles
- Software restriction set to a time frame and not just restrict the computer completely. Only when students are at school restrict certain software.
- I feel like with each upgrade when have had major bugs that need fixing. It is very annoying.
- I used to get better support when we first joined Jamf. Now premium support is an extra $10,000!
- Time management! I have more time for other tasks. I am not stuck imaging computers all day during the summer.
- Self Service (app which comes with Jamf) has made a world of difference for my colleagues and I. It gives the user the capability to install programs themselves without having to enter a password/key.
- Students and teachers will hopefully soon use their phones or ipads to collaborate together on the projector using a wireless device like Apple TV to project on the screen.
- DeployStudio
We used a free software called DeployStudio many years ago to image our Mac laptops. Jamf was so amazing to have; however, I had to teach myself how to use it when we first got it rolled out. I had many tears that summer. I felt like Jamf just sent out people to set up our server for Jamf and then said here you go. Good luck! They need to install Jamf and then have a crash course on how to utilize it. Spent many hours on the phone and wiping my tears.
